What is Yarrow?
Yarrow is a flat-topped plant that can grow up to four-feet tall and has flowers that can be red, yellow, gold, pink, or white. 35,36 The plant is native to Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.37
In the book, Montana Native Plants & Early Peoples, author Jeff Hart says that yarrow was used by American Indians for fevers, colds, and skin problems. 38

Medicinal Uses of Yarrow
In one study, scientists found that a yarrow extract could help rejuvenate skin by improving the appearance of wrinkles and pores. 39
Another study found that a yarrow extract could protect the stomach.40 In the study, scientists induced stomach ulcers in rats and found that the yarrow extract could reduce the ulcers and protect antioxidants.
According to author Mathew Wood, yarrow leaves and flowers contain many compounds, including flavonoids and vitamin C. 41
